Still growing...

Our little nugget is now the size of a lime!!!!

Dave and I had a doctors appointment yesterday and was able to hear the heartbeat of the little one for the first time. We were also able to record it. My aunt gave us an ornament to put a picture of the ultrasound in it, but it can also record a message. The doctor said that she has seen some crazy things be brought in to record the beating, but never an ornament. We are scheduled for February 27th to have the big ultrasound...if it is a girl or boy.

I am 11 weeks today and feeling good, but still very tired. Roxie and I are about to go take a nap.
Hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and was able to relax. I get less than one week to take as many naps as possible until I go back to school. And trust me, I am taking advantage.

We're expecting....

As of December 4th, the baby was 1 and 1/2 centimeters. As of today, I am almost 10 weeks and the baby, as far as we can tell (by all the websites), it the size of a rasberry.

Dave and I have not posted for a while for a reason...we only have one huge thing to talk about...

We are expecting a little nugget in July. I am currently 2 months (8 weeks) pregnant.

We went to the doctor last week and she said that everything could not look any better. My hormone levels are great, and now that we have passed the miscarriage stage, we are ready to tell everyone. We told both sides of the family over Thanksgiving, and most people around St. Louis knows, thanks to my mom telling everyone she comes in contact with. We are going to put the ultrasound picture up, but the scanner is currently down. It will be on the computer soon...keep checking back.

Finally.

Tonight a dear friend of the family passed on...Kim Leadford. She was basically my 2nd mom growing up. My mom would watch her three daughters and myself in the morning for the school bus, then after school, I stayed at the Leadford house. I was like thier daughter...on the chore list, celebrated holidays together, and had fun doing all kinds of crazy activities. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She died at 50 years of age, today (Saturday) November 15th, at 2 p.m. My mom has been spending many hours sitting and caring for Kim with her husband Ron, and the three girls, Lauri, Molly, and Joanna. OUr prayers go to the family, and I am asking for you to also pray for them. They need the Lord's support and guidance through this difficult time. You will be vary missed, Kim!!! But we all know that you are happier now.

Halloween at the Whitlock's

Last year was our first Halloween in our new house. Dave had to work, and I was shocked about how many kids came to the door...127! I eventually moved outside and forgot about the door.

This year, more of the same, except Dave could enjoy the excitement, and the 130 kids. We knew for sure that since Halloween was on a Friday and in 70 degree temperatures, it was going to be busy! I love seeing all the kiddos in the awesome costumes telling amazing jokes. Here are my 3 favorite of the night...

We attach Roxie to the front landing and let her enjoy. She loves all the attention!

She looks like she is in jail, so next year I am totally buying her a jailbirds outfit to wear. I had angel wings for her and she chewed them off.

Our nephews and niece came by...Jacob is in the Turtle outfit and Ethan is Thomas the Train. Haley is the princess.

Happy Birthday to my mom!

On Monday, October 27th, my mom celebrated her birthday...Yeah!!!

Dave and I sent her an Edible Arrangement as a surprise. But it doesn't compare to last year. Dave and I, along with the help of my family, threw her a surprise 50th bash. I decorated a portable potty chair, played pin the part on the old fart (like pin the tail on the donkey), we covered her car in old people quotes, and enjoyed food and drinks with good friends. Since I did not have a blog up and running, here are some pics from last year.

Oprah's furry friend

I am a regular Oprah watcher (well, from the TIVO), and I fell in love with this adorable dog, named Maggie. She can add, subtract, multiply, and count. She is so funny! Dave's new endeavor

Most people don't know...here's the official launch...
Dave just started a new small buisness. He and two other guys, who went have known since college, have begun Sling & Stone Productions. Byron Sharp is one partner, who worked with Dave on many movie making assignments at Southeast, and now a fellow coworker at Charter. Ryan Maurer, a long time friend, is the other partner. Ryan was in Dave's fraternity, Theta Xi, and was the one the introduced us to each other almost 7 years ago. All three guys have video production degrees and are now really putting them to good work.
This is a side job for now. Dave and the others are still keeping thier 'day jobs', but are using this business as a tool to expand their horizons and hopefully it can really take off one day.

Sling & Stone Productions, a title chosen to describe the story of David and Goliath, is a video production company, in which they are taping weddings, birthdays, sporting activities, family moments, and buisness needs. For example, they have a wedding lined up in October, and they have secured the deal for making the buisness video for United Services for the Handicapp.

If you know Dave, you know his determination...his drive to do well...and his need to never quit. This is a great opportunity for the guys...and hey...I got an awesome new computer out of it.
